I don’t always understand why things happen the way that they do. The question I am asking myself a lot these days is “Do I trust God?” God has radically transformed our lives these past 4 months. Sometimes I wake up and ask myself “What are we doing?” Then I am reminded that God spoke this world into existence. He breathed life into Adam. He is the one who has called us at this time for this purpose. God has called many people to do His work.  Matthew 4:18-22 says “While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”  Immediately they left their nets and followed him.  And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them.  Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.” These guys IMMEDIATELY left and followed Him. God used these men to transform the World. God used these fishermen. I am encouraged because if God can use fishermen then He can also use a sinner like myself. I am nothing special, I am a lost soul who has been found by His creator and cleansed by Jesus’s blood.  These disciples of Christ left everything they had to follow Christ. It wasn’t an easy road but it was what God had in store for them. We know that this stage in our life is not going to be easy. Selling everything we have and leaving everything we know. But we know that this is what God has and we praise Him for the opportunity of being part of his plan. Don’t get me wrong, it is hard at times but God has taken care of us and will keep doing so. We don’t know how he is going to do this. We don’t need to understand it all. He is God and knows better then I do why He does what He does and how it will all work out. So do I trust God with my life? Yes…I trust God… do you?

Picture below is a digital painting of  Chicago I made on the computer. The City that has been our home for the last 10 years. We sure will miss it but are exited to see what God has for us in Italy!
